Zoe Shaffer

Zoe Etta Shaffer of Denver, CO, formerly of Shadyside, OH, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.

Zoe was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 6, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Shaffer, three brothers, and seven sisters.

She is survived by daughters Sky A. Redwood, Denver, CO, Victoria L. McCartney, wife of James H. McCartney, of Sacramento, CA, and Barbara S. Sharp, wife of John W. Sharp of Sugar Land, TX, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Just prior to her passing she was employed as a foster grandparent at the Warren Village Learning Center, to which she rode the No.10 bus daily. For many years she was a nanny to many of the children in the neighborhood, and previously worked as a medical receptionist in Bellaire, OH.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Warren United Methodist Church at 14th Ave. and Gilpin St., Denver, CO 80218. She will be interred at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, PA.
