William F. Sharp (Bill), age 90, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away peacefully on July 20, 2020.Bill was born in Buffalo, New York in 1930. On January 24, 1959, he married Nona Morrison and travelled to Florida and Havana, Cuba with her to celebrate. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he spent the majority of his professional career at Republic Steel in Buffalo, retiring as Head Electrician. Throughout his life, he enjoyed travelling with his wife and children — sometimes in old, questionable school buses. When he wasn't travelling, he enjoyed tinkering with the vast collection of vehicles in his driveway, home projects, drinking a cold beer with close friends, Hank and Ken, and taking care of any animal that crossed paths with him. Bill was a very loving man and frequently took care of those around him by loaning them tools and assisting them with repairs, lawn work, and whatever else they may have needed. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nona; sister, Pat Bulger; son, Dan Sharp (Patricia); daughter, Cathy Rhodes (David); bonus daughters, Tracy Gasinski and Susan Freling; grandchildren, Caroline Wasson (Jared), Natalie Rhodes, Eric Rhodes, and Karl Schneider (Jessica), bonus granddaughter Katye Whorton (Jay) and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Bill is predeceased by his son, Bill Sharp, and his daughter, Marilyn Sharp.Following Bill's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of a traditional service, we invite you to celebrate at home with a mismatched outfit of plaid and stripes, close family and friends, a couple of animals, some salty snacks, a cold beer, Manhattan, or some expired milk.
Bill asked that donations be made to Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, the American Cancer Society, or Alive Hospice. When you are celebrating his life, please follow his loving advice: "Have fun, be good, don't stay out late. You go anywhere else, call. You know the rules."
