William Dean "Bill" Pelham
William Dean "Bill" Pelham was born on September 27, 1945 in Denver, Colorado to Helen King Pelham and Walter Pelham. He was the 5th generation of the Pelham family born in Colorado. He joined his brother Robert in the family on South Clarkson Street in Denver. Bill graduated from South High School in Denver in 1963. He took college classes in Durango and Greeley, Colorado. Bill married Mary L Hentges on June 15, 1968 in Colorado Springs. They always lived in the Denver metro area and moved to Broomfield in 1979, where they raised their family. Bill and Mary have 5 amazing children: Joy Retherford, Deb Pelham, Becky Toliver, Dan Pelham, and Crystal Pelham. They have 5 grandchildren: Amber, Aidan, Julian, Melinda, and Alec who was waiting for Grandpa in heaven.
Bill spent his career in construction. He built houses, supervised construction sites, and was a building inspector. Bill and Mary shared their family, home and love with about 500 foster children over a 20 year time frame. Bill was a leader and trainer in the Stephen Ministry program at Broomfield United Methodist Church. He had begun assisting other churches to develop that program for their congregations. Bill touched and enriched many lives, and was an amazing husband, father, and very caring person. Bill passed away on April 27, 2018. He is survived by his brother Robert; wife Mary; children Joy, Deb, Becky, Dan and Crystal; and grandchildren Amber, Aidan, Julian, and Melinda.
