On October 21, 2019 William (Bill or Bud) C. Carter passed away William was born on June 18, 1932 to Richard H and Evelyn Carter in Denver, Colorado.
William grew up in both Denver and Cripple Creek
William attended Denver Public Schools. In 1951 William Graduated from East High School when attending East, he was a member of ROTC with this he joined the Army Reserve. He quickly rose in rank by 1955 he was a staff sergeant. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1964. William was employed full time with the Denver Public Schools as a custodian/maintenance staff for 40 1/2 years retiring in 1987.
William very proudly served his community of Sheridan, Colorado as a volunteer fire fighter with both his son's Ron and Tom. He also served as a city council member for 9 years 1973-1981, Sheridan Celebrates committee for 20 years and as a board of trustees of the Sheridan Historical Society for 20 years before retiring from the board in 2015.
William was in bad health for the last couple of years and recently placed in hospice care. William passed away one week after his oldest son Ron had unexpectedly passed. William is survived by his daughters Leslie (Don) Smith, Brenda (Michal) Robinson, Son Tom (LuAnn) Carter, Daughter-in-law Mary (Ron) Carter, 5 grandson's, numerus great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Richard Hansen, Sister-in-law's Virginia Mills and Verna Clark.
