Wesley Milton Shoe, 89, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Feb. 17, 2019 in Denver Colorado. Wesley was born Jan. 19, 1930 in Sacramento, CA, and was a resident of Lakewood, Colorado at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Schoen-Snow, father John Audra Shoe, mother Clara Elizabeth Milton-Shoe, and former wife Irma-Jean Diltz with whom he had 2 children. He is survived by his son Gary Wayne Shoe and daughter Terri Lynne Harper, loving daughter in-law Maureen C Shoe, 4 grandchildren John Shoe, Galen Shoe, Joel Metze, Kelly Metze, and 11 great grandchildren. Wesley is also survived by his loving step family of 2 children, Jerry Snow and Brenda Strong-Snow, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. The remembrance will be a casual gathering at his home March 3, at 1:00 pm.
Wes was a Korean War era veteran in the U.S. Army. He was baptized at the Jefferson Ave Methodist Church in Wheat Ridge, CO in 1963. He was a Cartographer for the USGS in Lakewood, CO, retiring in 1990, and remained close to his co-workers.
He was known for being compassionate, having a great sense of humor, being loyal to his friends, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He loved hunting and fishing much of his life, but in later years preferred to admire nature in more passive, contemplative ways. He enjoyed many hours socializing with friends and family, bowling, golfing, and playing Bingo.Wesley will be remembered by many for his huge capacity to love, his kindness and fairness, his humility, his generosity, and his natural and faithful adherence to the Golden Rule.
