Wesley McCarthy, 59, of Denver died April 14, 2016. Wes had a passion for music, art, nature, and people. Equally at home camping in the mountains or admiring the works in the Louvre, he made fast friends of strangers. He thought of others before himself, almost to a fault. He'd share a song, a piece of art, or the goofy sign posted in a shop window if it made him think of you and he thought it would bring a smile. He gave in spirit, he gave in time, and he gave in thought. Wes was protective and unquestionably devoted to those he loved. He would slip the waiter money before the check arrived because it made him feel good to be generous with his friends and family. He was the guy you could count on, always. His deeply considerate spirit made him a man who seldom gave excuses - the difficulties he encountered, even those that came in his service to others, he shouldered with little complaint. Wes valued people above all, and, if you knew him, you never doubted it. Wes will be carried in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him, far too many to list. Our brother's memory will be honored best by the time and love you give to one another.
Family and friends will gather Friday April 22 at Central Park in Denver (Stapleton), 8801 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. at 2 p.m. We hope you join us.
