Artist, educator, graphic designer and art director Erica Wendy Elliott passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday, 12/13/2017 at 3:33 am ending a year-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded with family, friends and supported in the process of dying at home by the skilled care of the nurses and social workers from Hospice, who were exceptional in every way and the angels from Olivias Sisters Homes Care, who were by her side 24/7 for the last week. She could not have had more skillful, caring and dedicated care to facilitate her graceful passage.
Erica is survived by her niece. who is a surrogate daughter, Kelly O’Neal Gray, Kelly’s daughter London Gray, her nephew Loren Elliott, her brother Douglas Elliott, her Aunt and Uncle Paul & Merry Goldstein in NY, her cousins, Susan & Judy Goldstein, Clifford Harris and her aunt Sally Lisha Cunningham.
Erica had a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She was taking bold new directions as an artist, accessing her inner power. She was an integral part of the Santa Fe art community, having shown her art work worldwide. Erica had been actively involved with local artists groups, most recently providing new energy and leadership as a member of the Board of the Santa Fe Studio Tour.
Erica held a Master’s Degree in Humanities & Leadership with an emphasis in Creative Inquiry. As an educator, she continued to conduct weekly on-line classes in Humanities and Leadership. Her knowledge and dedication to the art community will be sorely missed. She will always be in the hearts of the Santa Fe artists community and her loving network of friends and family.
