Wanda Regina Adkins (nee Henderson) was born in Nashville, TN on January 3, 1949 and transitioned this life on February 7, 2017. She was a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1967. She was formerly employed at TradeWinds, City of Gary, and owner of Blossoms and Blooms Floral and Gift Shop. She was a member of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism for over 40 years. She was also politically involved, campaigning for Barbara Leek Wesson and Charlie Brown.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wilma Jean Crenshaw and father, Ronnie D. Jones; son Rodney; brothers, Rudolph and Ronnie; and nephew, Musa.
She leaves to cherish her memory, loving sons, Lawan, JP, and Jason; granddaughter Jaylah; grandsons, JP Jr., Joseph, and Jakob; sisters, Haneefa, Roshanta (Larry), and Bonnie (Franklin); brothers Darris, Rawleigh, Michael (Verdia); aunt Clara Boyd, affectionately known as Antie; step-mother, Leavert Jones, and many nieces and nephews. She had many lifelong friends.
She will be celebrated on February 18, 2017 at Teibel's, 1775 US Highway 41, Schererville, IN 46375 from 11:00am - 4:00pm.
