Voula Petropoulos

Stavroula (Voula) Petropoulos of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away at her home on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the age of 82 surrounded by her loving family, cousins, and friends.  Voula was born on April 1, 1936 to Haralambos and Vasiliki D’Agostino. In 1968, Voula, her husband Steve, and three children left Kalamata, Greece and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 14, 1968.

Voula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and diligent servant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.  Voula was a kind and generous person that would put other people before herself.  She would always be in the kitchen cooking everything from green chili chicken enchiladas to Chinese food.  She loved to bake cookies during major holidays (Christmas and Easter), and share those cookies with other people.

Voula will be sorely missed but never forgotten.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Haralambos and Vasiliki D’Agostino; sisters, Irene Papazoglou and Anna Anyfiotis; and brother, Pete D’Agostino.  She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Steven; her sons, Gary (wife Tish), George, and Bobby (wife Emily); grandchildren, Katrina De La Cruz, Colby, Ryan, Mija, and Kristina Petropoulos.

We would finally like to thank the people of Compassus for the support and care of our mother and all the people at Presbyterian (Kaseman) Hospital.

Trisagion services will be held at 5:00pm, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Carlisle Chapel (3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, ABQ).  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church located at 308 High St SE.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
