Virginia Salazar

October 14, 1961 — January 22, 2021

Virginia “Ginger” Salazar, at 59 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021, after losing her 24-day battle against COVID-19. Ginger is the second youngest of ten born in Pueblo, CO, to her loving parents Tomasita and Guadalupe Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Bobert. She is survived by high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years Michael C Salazar, children:  Sherii & Abe Bortz-Johnson, Dominic & Bethany Salazar, Jesse Salazar & Maria Theresa Montoya, Zachariah Salazar & Anjanette Armenta. Along with the lights of her life and reason to get out of bed in the morning, her grandchildren Marina Ruddick, Joaquin Ramirez, Julian Ramirez, and Raven Salazar. She is also survived by her brother James & Jan Garcia, sisters Katherine Davis, Elizabeth Martin, Cindy & Dan Brooks, Rose & Jon Numair, Elaine & Mark Kelly, Susan & Joe Guererro, and Eloise & Ed Vigil, and her many adored Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, and multitude of adopted family members.

Ginger is known for her unwavering faith and devotion to God, her infectious laugh, smile, unstoppable dance moves, and delicious cooking. She loved with no reserve, helped as if she had endless resources, prayed for all to be saved from themselves and the world every moment of the day. She served the Lord and the Church by being a member of the Legion of Mary, a member of the Carmelites, a Eucharistic Minister, and a Catechism Instructor.

Ginger was a light of love to be reckoned with, though she is no longer here to personally share her loving light, she continues to make the world brighter by leaving the light to be tended to by those she touched, brightening the world from her eternal flame.
