Virginia Fleischer, 93, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on March 9, 2021. She was a devout Christian with unshakeable faith and even in her final moments was a witness to her family. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace, and she would often sing songs to that tune. She is survived by five daughters, Colleen (Frank) Bergner, Eileen Lovenstein, Maureen (John) Morris, Kathleen (Andy Parke) Mulligan and Char (Robert) Micek, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter; four stepchildren, Carol (Joseph) Naranjo, David (Linda), Michael and Dale Fleischer, and five step-grandchildren and two great step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Walter R. Fleischer in 2015.
Virginia was born in Los Angeles, California in 1927, the daughter of Ruth and Curtis Mullins. She grew up in Long Beach, California and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1945. Shortly after high school she became a flight attendant with United Airlines until her marriage to her first husband, David Mulligan in 1952. She and David were married for 25 years and had five daughters together. She was remarried in 1977 to the love of her life, Walter Fleischer.
She and Walter loved to travel and went all over the United States, Mexico and Canada. They traveled abroad to England, Scotland, Ireland and throughout Europe, as well as to Australia and New Zealand. Her grandfather Michael Mullins was born in Tulsa, County Clare, Ireland in 1867. Mother was very proud of her Irish heritage and researched her genealogy and traced her lineage back to Ireland 1831. She applied and received dual citizenship for Ireland in July 2004.
Virginia’s daughters and their families wish to thank Brookdale Assisted Living Facility and Staff in Fort Collins, who took such great care of their dear Mother during the last two years, especially during the 2020 pandemic.
