Vincent Peter Prawdzik, age 68, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Prawdzik and his sister, Susan Marie Prawdzik.
He is survived by his loving wife, Erna Griggs Prawdzik, whom he married on June 21, 1975. The couple was looking forward to celebrating their 40th year of marriage this summer. He is survived by his children, Ed (Helen) Helsel, Carmen (Chris) Bilton, Olivia Prawdzik, and Belinda (Adam) Vellinga; proud "Jaja" of Keith, Ashley, Zoe, Amelia, Freyja and Baby Boy, several great grandchildren; his sisters and brother, Margaret (Duane) Scott, Carol Prawdzik and Robert Prawdzik; many nieces and nephews as well as friends around the globe that felt like family.
Vince was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from September 1969 - June 1973 with Honorable Discharge and received a Good Conduct Medal. Vince was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church (South Carolina) for nearly 35 years. He was "officially" retired from his long time career as a Nuclear Engineer. Although, most recently he said his new career was being a full-time care-giver of his grandchildren. His hobbies included maintaining a community garden full of fruits and vegetables, fly fishing, collecting Native American art, traveling, giving the greatest hugs and making people smile.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial Mass in Michigan (jointly to honor the lives of Vince and his sister, Sue) as well as a memorial service in South Carolina will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Vince may be made to Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
