Ursula Eirich Moeller was born in Vienna Austria on May 23rd, 1938, and died in Santa Fe, New Mexico on September 4th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones and family. She was 85 years old.
Ursula lived her life full-heartedly with an unwavering devotion to her family and friends, a great passion for her work and a deep love for the natural world. She was a beloved preschool teacher and educator for 35 years and had a gift for nurturing young mind and hearts. Ursula was also an extraordinary gardener, an adventurous and curious traveler, and delighted in crafts of all kinds. She was a prolific writer and artist who published two memoirs in her lifetime: one about her childhood during WWII and her immigration to the United States, and one based on her adventures in Australia with her husband Richard. She shared photo journals, along with over a thousand daily haiku poems with a circle of friends that she cultivated over a lifetime. She and Richard were married for 64 years and were inseparable partners in adventure and love.
She is survived by her loving husband, her two sons and daughters-in-law, her sister, and her grandchildren, as well as an enormous circle of friends. We will all miss her greatly.
