Tomas Gonzalez, 84, of El Valle de Luis Leon, Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Albuquerque, NM.

Rosary will be on Monday at Garcia's Mortuary

Viewing will be held on Monday, August 17th at Garcia's Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW from 4-6pm, and the rosary will commence thereafter. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 18th at 9am at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Patrick Shafer celebrating, 526 Atrisco Dr. SW, and interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Tomas Gonzalez was born in El Valle de Luis Leon to Apolonia Mota and Adalio Gonzalez on Jan. 11, 1936.  He went to primary school in his birth town before marrying Maria de Jesus Apodaca in 1951 in Cd. Juarez, Mexico.  He worked as a laborer and security guard throughout his life.  He was a free-spirited loving man who loved dancing and singing to music, playing his guitar, laughing, joking, traveling, and figuring out ways to do anything.  Tomas was loved by many and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Esperanza Gonzalez, Elvira Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Alvino Gonzalez, great grandson Manuel "Manny" Acosta, granddaughter Priscilla Gonzalez, grandson Paul "Chico" Hernandez, granddaughter Tiffany Gallardo, and son Arnulfo Gonzalez.

Tomas Gonzalez is survived by his wife Maria Gonzalez, Paul "Polo" Gonzalez, Rosa Gonzales and Alberto Pichardo, Martin Gonzalez, Alvino Gonzalez, Socorro Hernandez, Angie Hernandez and Alejandro "Alex" Orta, Lupe Hernandez, Jesus Manuel Gonzalez, Refugia "Cuca" Gonzalez, Gabriella "Gabby" Hernandez, Mariella Hernandez, David Hernandez, Omar Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez, Marcy Hernandez, Veronica Arzate, Ludivina Acosta, Ramon "JR" Acosta, Cynthia Pichardo, Rihanna Hernandez, Benjamin Hernandez, Juan de Dios Hernandez, Isavel Castro, Jasmine Hernandez, Zachary Gonzalez, Whitney Gonzalez, Latory Gonzalez, Marcus Gonzalez, Isaac Gonzalez, Brandi Gonzalez, Derek Gonzalez, Kaitlyn Gonzalez, Sammy Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Crystal Deckard, Joseph Martinez, Justin Hernandez, Andrew Hernandez & Junior Hernandez.  Tomas is also survived by many, many great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great grandchildren all who had a special place in his heart.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hernandez, Sammy Hernandez, Alex Orta, Joseph Martinez, Justin Hernandez, Alberto Pichardo, Alvino Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez, Jr. Acosta, & Andrew Hernandez.

The family would like to thank Tomas' oncology and hospice physicians and nurses, especially Amanda and Vanessa.  And a very special thank you and his family "nurses" Rosa and Angie.
