CMSgt. Thomas J. Walther, COANG(RET) 68, of Parker, CO passed away on April 16, 2017 at The Denver Hospice.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Colorado Air National Guard, serving 38 years including the Vietnam War and in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Tom loved to fish and holds the record for catching the largest brown trout at the Aurora Reservoir. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the proud owner of one share of the Packers stock. He found the most happiness spending his weekends cheering for his grandchildren at their athletic events and being their #1 fan.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of almost 50 years, Susan Walther, a caring and supportive father to daughters Amy Walther-Kim of Longmont, Co and Holly Walther(Jegwe Dancan), Kampala, Uganda, and a loving grandfather to Caleb, Maddie, and Eli Kim and Shekinah Jegwe Walther.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on April 28, 2017 at the Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch , CO. A military service will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
His family requests that donations be made to The Denver Hospice, giving@care4denver.org, instead of flowers.
