Susan Yardley

Our dear Susan left this world much too early, but our loss is heaven's gain.

Daughter of Shirley Layne and Jim Engel (deceased) and Bill and Joyce Yardley (deceased) and granddaughter of Mary Jane Layne and Mary Engel (deceased). Loving wife and life partner of Michael Yardley.

Susan was a dedicated mother to Abigail and Arthur Trukshin, Ian and Sam Yardley, and Tina Slone. Big sister to Sandi Morey, Sally Fowler, Bret Engel, Amy and Shane Green and Annette and Gary Hurley. Go-to aunt of Caden, Gage, Piper Green; Emilie McCoy; Sean, Brittney, Asher, Mac, Fizzi Morey; Emerson and Oliver Morey; and Zoe Engel.

She was a dedicated, trusted friend who was always willing to listen, but also wasn't afraid to lovingly give her opinion. She made you feel like you were the most important person God ever made. Her wonderful smile and great sense of humor were infectious. And she was a pretty good card player and even better at all sorts of beautiful crafts.

While she never held a paying job in the past 30 years, her time on this earth was invaluable. She worked tirelessly for her family and friends, but most importantly to advance the kingdom of God. All of us who knew her will be hard pressed to fill the hole that she left behind.

There will be a celebration of Susan's life on Saturday, August 18th at 10:00 AM CST, at Millcreek Community Church located at 7825 Gleason, Shawnee KS 66227. The family will be receiving people immediately following the ceremony. In addition, there will be a Facebook Live broadcast of the ceremony at https://www.facebook.com/mymillcreek/ for family and loved ones who cannot make the journey to Kansas.
