Sue Ann Whiteley, age 70, of Denver, Colorado passed away August 9, 2016, thirty six years to the day that her father passed on. Sue was born in Gary, Indiana November 20, 1945 to Melvin Leonard and Florence Lillian Whiteley (deceased). Sue is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Yvette) Moore of Shreveport, Louisiana and sisters, Sandra (late Kessler) Truelove and Margaret (Joseph) Danyi both of Valparaiso, Indiana and Hana (Nee Nancy)( Khalid) YaQuibi of Sterling, Virginia.
Sue attended Ambridge Primary School in Gary, Indiana and was a graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 1963. She was an active member of Central Christian Church, participating in their youth group and choir as well as Brownies, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters and attended Barbee Christian Camp.
Sue moved to Denver Colorado as an adult. She loved the abundant sunshine, mountain air and western square dancing. Sue was a breeder of Pomeranian dogs. Sue was always trying to educate herself and help other people. She trained and worked, both as a dental assistant and a nursing assistant. She extended her care giving to help the elderly and the infirmed as well as dog sitting for travelling pet owners.
Sue was passionate about giraffes. Enchanted by the first giraffe she saw as a child, she collected thousands of giraffe items of every type. She eventually traveled to Africa to view them in their natural habitat.
Sue was preceded in death by both her maternal grandparents Clarence (Ruby) Rempis and paternal grandparents, Dempsey (Mabel ) Whiteley.
