Sue also worked as a pre-school teacher there and at the Jewish Community Center for a combined total of 36 years. In 1973, Sue began directing the choir at Capitol Heights Presbyterian Church, where she served until her death.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Sue loved working in her yard and caring for her flower gardens.
