Steven Keith Semora
February 9, 1970 - December 28, 2016
Keith was a proud Texan! He became an avid hunter at 8 years old. Growing up, he loved to spend time with his dad and great uncle in the outdoors and on their deer lease in East Texas. Keith was a gifted athlete as well as an outdoor enthusiast. He played numerous sports and excelled in baseball and football. He served as the team captain of his football team, was a Collegiate Blue Chip recognized athlete in high school, and was even invited to try-out for the Houston Astros and the Chicago Cubs. He was a stud (or at least his wife thinks so)!
Though Keith had lots of interest to play collegiate football, he followed his heart to attend college at Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he met the love of his life Samantha. There, he majored in psychology and played rugby and football.
Keith and Samantha married in 1993 and settled in Cypress, Texas. Soon after, the light of their life, Kody, was born.
In 1996, Keith, Sam and Kody moved to Denver. They thought it would be a great adventure and their stay would only be a couple of years. But as many do, they fell in love with the Rocky Mountains.
In 2004, Keith went to work for Worldwide Rental Services where he quickly became an effective rental salesman using his knowledge from the transportation industry and his ability to build strong relationships with his customers. More recently, Keith was named Key Account Manager for WRS handling all of the multi state contractors working in the Western U.S. Keith was loved by the entire WRS family and he loved them back.
Keith's interests were varied and many. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, traveling, camping, snowboarding, men's recreational softball, golf, The Denver Broncos and most of all coaching his son in Arapahoe Youth League football and baseball. In 2001 he led his football team to a Super Bowl Championship. This was one of the proudest moments of his life. As Keith got older, he enjoyed watching wildlife more than hunting it and couldn't bring himself to shoot anything but clays and birds. Keith had a singing voice that lit up a room and was the Karaoke King. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Last but not least, he was a loving, kind, self-sacrificing, and supportive husband and father. Keith was loved by many and will not be forgotten.
Keith was active in the Mile High Clam Bake Club, El Paso County Contractors Association, Colorado Contractors Association and was the 2016 Associate Council Vice chair. He also served on the Conference Committee, Special Events Committee, and Work Zone Safety & Support Task Force. He was also served for several years as the VP of Football for the Arapahoe Youth League - Eagles.
Keith is survived by Samantha Semora, his wife of 23 years, his son Kody Blake Semora, his brother James Kelley Semora, his mother, Peggy Elizabeth Semora and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father Herman Lee (Sam) Semora and his brother, Kevin Lee Semora.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please send donations to one of the following charities: Denver Rescue Mission, Dumb Friends League of Colorado, or Rocky Mountain Easter Seals Camp.
