Steven Dale Lynch, 58, passed away Tuesday, May 10th 2016 at Littleton Adventist Hospital surrounded by his two loving daughters and son-in-law after a long battle with emphysema.
Steve was known for his extraordinary advice that he gave freely, his love for the outdoors and reading.
Steve was born November 26th, 1957 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to John Ernest Lynch Jr. and Marie Marguerite Lynch. He was the second eldest of four boys; Rodney, Stanley, and Robert. The family moved to Delta, Colorado, where Steve attended school and graduated from Delta High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1982 where he served overseas in Korea alongside Ron Shapley and Randy Wood, who would become lifelong friends. In addition to surveying for the Army, Steve enjoyed a number of occupations in his lifetime, including logging and over-the-road truck driving, where he was able to travel the U.S.
Steven met Debora Templeton in 1988, and got married and had one daughter, Meagan, a year later. Steve also adopted Debora's daughter, Jessica, and raised her as his own. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, something the family did as much as possible every summer. Steve also had a love for the arts and enjoyed drawing, painting and playing the guitar. Later in life, he loved spending time with his grandsons, Kyler and Connor. Steve loved to read and had a library that overflowed several bookshelves, a passion that he also passed to his daughter Meagan. His loving support and words of encouragement will be dearly missed.
Steve is survived by his daughter Jessica Templeton-Lynch and grandsons Kyler and Connor Lynch of Aurora, CO; daughter Meagan Crews and husband Phillip of Greeley, CO; their mother Debora Templeton of Aurora, CO; his brother Rodney Lynch and wife Pamela of Montrose, CO; and his brother Robert Lynch of Crawford, CO. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Lynch of Delta, CO; and his brother, Stan Lynch of Delta, CO.
A memorial will be held later in the summer at Silver Jack Reservoir. If anyone who knew Steve would like to come and celebrate his life please contact his daughter, Jessica, at 970-589-2291 for details.
