Stephen Jones

May 3, 1967 — December 9, 2020

Stephen Jones, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was 53 years old.

Steve was one of those people. He was good at everything. He was intelligent, funny, and creative. He could paint. He could draw. He made amazing art - photography, watercolor paintings, clocks with working dioramas inside. On top of all that, he was movie-star handsome, had great hair, and could befriend anyone.

He inherited his talent and good looks from his ever-photogenic parents, Neil and Elaine, who raised Steve and his sisters, Dana and Lisa, in Littleton, Colorado. Steve graduated from Littleton High School and went on to attend Colorado State University, where he honed his artistic skills and created incredibly innovative works. It was at CSU that he met fellow artist and future wife, Laura Jones. His wonderful hand-painted, hand-carved clocks were featured at the Opicka Gallery in Denver in the 1990s, and every clock sold. He continued to apply his artistic eye and creativity to website development and design at Jones International University, which went on to become the company NCTI where he served on the management team as Director of Web Services. He travelled far and wide with his family, including cruising from California to Hawaii, and a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary. Monaco was a standout destination and inspired many favorite vacation memories.

Steve is survived by his wife, Laura; his children, Quinn and Isabelle, who both inherited his humor, intelligence, and creativity; his parents, Neil and Elaine; and his sister, Lisa. He was predeceased by his sister, Dana.

Steve battled glioblastoma (GBM) for 21 months, and donations in his memory can made to the American Brain Tumor Association (abta.org) to support continued research into the causes and treatment of brain tumors. A celebration of Steve's life is being planned for the summer of 2021.
