Stanley “Stan” Dickey, 75, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away in July of this year, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the son of late Edith and Leonard Dickey. In June of 1969, he married the love of his life, Patricia and had two beautiful children.
Stan had the honor of serving his country in both the U.S. Army and Tennessee Army National Guard for over 26 years. After dedicating his life to his country, in 1995, he was honorably retired from the Tennessee Army Nation Guard with the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM). Stan was a Vietnam combat veteran, and received numerous awards and decorations for his service, including: an Air Medal for Valor and Army Commendations medal for heroism for his actions in combat. His service is also memorialized on the Wilson County Veteran Wall in Lebanon, Tennessee.
After his days in the military, Stan dedicated his time to helping Veteran’s in his community, being Lifetime Member with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1004 and being a friend to all. Stan loved his family and friends who quickly became family. His impact on the people he came across throughout his life will remain with them forever.
Stan is survived by his wife Pat; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Dayna Dickey; daughter and son-in-law; grandchildren, Delaney and Archer Dickey; loved family members in Ohio and all his wonderful neighbors, lifelong friends, and fellow veterans that he loved so dearly.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at his home in Lebanon, Tennessee.
