Shunda Cummings

Shunda Capri Cummings was born to the union of William T. Cummings and Emma J. Tate on November 11, 1959 in Denver, Colorado. She attended Stedman Elementary, Smiley Middle School, and East High School and grew up in the Historical Park Hill area, where enjoyed spending time with her neighborhood friends. While in school she was united in marriage with Howard Lee Ross. They had a daughter Kieva Ross on December 8, 1977. Following her divorce, she joined together with Richard W. Johnston. In that union they had one son, Ronald Lee Johnston II on December 11, 1980.

Shunda enjoyed fashion and pursued her career at May D&F Department Store. She was employed with Capital Life Insurance and IBM. Shunda then furthered her education and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Human Relations. She was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority of Denver where she hosted a fashion show and did community activities and events. Shunda was a member of True Light Baptist Church and participated in several organizations.

Her hobbies include: YouTube nail art blogging, creating different crafts, fishing, playing dominos and spades, cooking with her nephew Tyler, and spending quality time with her seven grandchildren.

Left to cherish Shunda's memory is her daughter Kieva Crowley (Leroy) of Denver, CO, her son Ronald Johnston II (Amanda) of Denver, CO.

Seven grandchildren; Asia & Charles Whittiker, Rashawn & Lea Johnston, Jason Cook, Lydia & Andre Johnston. Her nephew Tyler Lee Fredrick and her beloved puppy Skruffy.

Two sisters; Nancy & Alegra Cummings, one brother Boyce Cummings, her father William T. Cummings, her childhood best friend Teri Hurt and a host of cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother Emma J. Tate, sister Pamela McFaden, and her brother Christopher Cummings
