Sharon Smith

Sharon G. Smith (67) passed away at St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 24, 2022.

Sharon was born on February 19, 1955, in Stewart County, Tennessee. Daughter of Clarence and Elmous (Porter) Wallace. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brothers, Gilbert Wallace and Wayne Wallace, and sister, Barbara Earhart.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, G. W. (Ian) Smith, son Billy (Lisa) Smith, daughters, Sabrina (Bobby) Joiner and Shandi (Nathan Piatt) Smith, grandchildren, Will and Gavin Smith, Jessi Roesler, Christina Wallace, and Chelsea Coleman, along with brothers and sisters, Peggy (Bud) Maynard, Linda Myers, Herman (Cathy) Wallace, Ricky (Carla) Wallace, Mark (Renata) Wallace, Cathy (Jeff) Royals and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon loved to read books and was an avid watcher of birds and animals. She was the cornerstone of her family and a loving Nana to her grandchildren. Sharon loved to show her affection by cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was an extensive traveler with her husband and family. Before enjoying retirement, she spent 43 years managing the B & M Dairy Freeze.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to the Stewart County Public Library.
