On Thursday June 9th, 2022, Sandra Kay Hill, loving Mother and Grandma, passed away at her home in Commerce City at the age of 58. She was born in Oberlin, KS and moved to Colorado when she was just two years old. She spent the majority of her youth in Commerce City, CO and the surrounding areas. She graduated from Adams City High School with the class of 1981 and received an Accounting Degree from the Community College of Denver. In 1983 she began her journey as a mother with the birth of her eldest daughter, followed by twins in 1984 and finally her youngest in 1990.
She had many professions throughout her life, but her true passion came about with the births of her grandchildren. Having a hand in raising her nine grandchildren she would always say she could be found with at least one of them. She would often be found at the zoo or at various school functions, sport practices, tournaments, or games.
Sandy was the type of person that it did not matter if she knew you or just met, you were family. She would make sure to lend a helping hand in any way needed and make sure you were taken care of. Especially making sure you were fed in trying times. It was in her nature to help anyone who needed it.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Linda Bruner and Father Darrell Black. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Stacey (Christopher), Amber, Annette (Matthew) and Christina, her grandchildren Stephani 18, Kaylee 17, Lucius 16, Hannah 16, Cory 15, Cassandra 8, Leland 7, Aidan 5, Chelsea 4. Her siblings Tina, Troy, Lance along with many nieces, nephews, and their children.
At her request, we will be having a celebration of life event on August 6th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Veteran’s Memorial Park (6015 Forest Dr, Commerce City, CO 80022) with BBQ food and plenty of music playing. Please feel free to bring any song requests, side dishes or desserts. In lieu of flowers we ask that you bring some pocket change that will be donated in her name. Please share any photos or memories you would like to share here or we will have stationary available.
We love you Grandma!
