Ruth Thiel

Ruth Thiel, 90, of Westminster, Colorado and formerly of Forrest, Illinois went to be with her Lord and Savior October 7, 2013. Ruth was a caring mother of five, a wonderful cook, a skilled seamstress & quilter, an avid church & community volunteer, a meticulous housekeeper, and a devout Christian. Known for her playful wit, easy smile, and loving spirit, Ruth brought joy and laughter to close family and friends. She lived a life of humility and honesty.
Ruth is survived by her devoted husband, Roman, and five children: Rita Salakielu of Broomfield, Colorado; Pam Thiel of Broomfield, CO, Gary Thiel of Longmont, CO; Lori Thiel of Broomfield, CO, and Greg Thiel of Centennial, CO; two siblings, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. She will be deeply missed by family and friends of all ages.
A celebration of life will be held on Sat. May 2, 2015 in Forrest, IL at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (11am), with a light lunch following the service, then a cremation burial (2pm) at the Forrest Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Ruth's memory to either the Alzheimer's Association Colorado, 455 Sherman Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80203 or charity of your choice.
