Ruth Johnson

September 23, 1939 — December 3, 2012

Ruth Ann was born to Helen and Leslie Hahn on September 23, 1939 in St. John, Kansas. She was the eighth of nine children. Her siblings Bob, Arlene, Jim, Leonard, Wanda, Phil, Stan & Doug remember her as a very guilable yet loving sister that would do anything for any one. Her family moved from St. John, KS to Burlington, CO finally settling into Denver.

Some memories her brothers, sisters & best friend Dorothy shared are….her brothers playing into her Gullibility said she never got jokes so they would ask her to stand up so the joke wouldn't go over her head. Her brother Phil taught her how to drive a car.....and later Ruth wrecked his car. Ruth along with her best friend Dorothy were in sewing class where they made matching suits. Its been said the only reason Ruth attended school was to participate in sports. She played basketball, volleyball, baseball and track.

Ruth was very hard working dedicated employee/supervisor at Mountain Bell which eventually turned into AT&T. This was her one and only job. She worked there for 30+ years. Her mother Helen always told her to keep her job forever and never be late. Being prompt to work was a challenge for Ruth. She was often found running to work in her heels and dress trying not be be late....

Ruth had a huge crush on Howard Brown an older neighborhood boy who she eventually married. They were married September 22, 1961. They had three boys: Charles, David & Russ. Ruth, Howard and the boys enjoyed hunting, fishing & camping. They also loved to play cards every weekend with family. They would spend all three days playing cards hoping to win the big pot. Howard got sick and Ruth took care of him but he eventually passed away November 22, 1981.

After visiting one of her high school friends, Sue in Florida...Ruth began dating Sue's brother George Johnson. They loved watching movies and enjoyed each other company while eating out often. Ruth and George were married July 21, 1985. They moved to sunny Arizona in 2004 were they enjoyed their beautiful home, neighbors and community. They enjoyed 23 years of marriage. George passed away June 5, 2008.

Ruth always enjoyed all of the children in her life...her nephews, nieces & and especially her grandchildren: Michelle, Nicolle, Charles, Katrina, Cristina, Dakota, Lauren & Dalton. She was a daily influence in their lives and cared for them with all her heart and soul.

She will be incredibly missed by everyone who shared in her impactful life. Memorial services, Friday, December 7, 10am at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver, CO
