OBITUARY 

Rozella "Rose" Myrle Atenhan

November 3, 1940 - August 18, 2024

 Rozella Myrle Atenhan, age 83, of Aurora, Colorado passed away Sunday August 18, 2024 at the Parker Colorado Adventist Hospital. Rose was born in Denver to Dora and Leland Shelden. She grew up and attended school in Byers Colorado, where she graduated high school in 1958. After graduation, she worked as a secretary in Denver, where she met her future husband, Dennis Atenhan. They were married 1961 and started a family in 1967. A daughter Chanda (Max) Monroe and son Todd (Sonja) Atenhan. 

Rose was quite artistic painting ceramics, plates and on canvas. She was also creative making many quilts as gifts. She loved going to church, her church friends and studying the Bible. 

Rose has six grandchildren, Brant and Taylor Monroe and Nick, Blake, Haley and Olivia Atenhan. She has two great-granddaughters, Avery and Emerson Monroe, children of Brant and Liz Monroe. Rose’s favorite things were family gatherings and traveling. 

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Francis Gamble; and sister’s Corene and JoAnne Gamble. She lost her husband Dennis Atenhan on January 8, 2021. She is survived by her sister Norma Shelden Montgomery and many nieces and nephews

Interment and a Family Memorial Service will be held at the Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver Colorado.
