Roger Allen Straub, 76, died December 28th, 2016 with family by his side in Aurora, Colorado. A memorial service is scheduled for January 6th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard in Denver with reception to follow.
Roger was born on December 6th, 1940 in Darlington, Pennsylvania to John and Marie Straub, and is the seventh of nine children, leaving this Earth to join his parents and six older siblings. Roger was a veteran who joined the Navy out of high school as an Electronics Technician. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he went on to college and received his master's degree in physics. For the majority of his career Roger worked in the oil and gas industry analyzing seismic logs to decipher how best to get the highest yield out of oil wells.
Roger was a family man, whose real passion was the great outdoors, enjoying all of the benefits of camping, snowmobiling, fishing, and touring national parks. Through countless trips Roger taught his family to love and cherish the great outdoors. Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years Kay, four children (Dona, Randall, Benjamin, and Joseph), seven grandchildren, and his younger brother and sister.
