Roger M. DeLaria, 79, formerly of Amsterdam NY, passed away at home in Arvada, Colorado on June 7, 2015 after a long illness. Roger was born in Everett, Massachusetts on July 23, 1935 to James and Dorothea (Casano) DeLaria. He was the 5th of ten children.
Roger was a gentle, friendly and talkative person. He was an avid reader, especially of history and loved sports. He followed the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was a great storyteller and very enthusiastic about airplanes and attended many air shows.
Roger served 20 years in the Air Force and was proud of his military service. He was a Viet Nam veteran.
He was employed at General Electric and Ward Products, retiring in 1997. He lived in Amsterdam from 1973-2009 when he moved to Colorado to be near his children.
Roger is survived by his wife, Billie (Winifred), son Roger (Melissa), daughter Michelle (Ulf) Kutschera and granddaughter Taylor, brothers Allan and David and sister Lorraine Rogers and nieces and nephews. He was preceded by brothers James, Robert, Richard, Clifford and sisters Norma Minick and Louise Fiore.
Roger loved his family and friends.
Interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery June 15, 2015, 11:15am, Staging Area "B" at 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado.
