Rochelle Johnson

October 19, 1947 — June 30, 2020

Rochelle Annette Johnson was born on October 19, 1947 in Illinois.

She departed on June 30th, 2020 from her home in Denver, CO

Rochelle was loved by many that knew her, both friends and family alike. In the times when she was her most vibrant, she was often said to be fun, feisty, caring, more welcoming than anyone had ever known and just a beautiful woman.

She was always grateful for the love of her husband, grandchildren and family, and loved their company, leaving many fond memories of family celebrations for holidays and birthdays. She had a beautiful collection of owls in every form imaginable and she adored Betty Boop.

She was born with only one kidney which led to many health difficulties that she struggled with throughout her life. She was the 4th of 7 children and was expected to be the first one to pass at only the age of 12. However, she was the last of the 7 to cross over just 9 days after her sister, Carmen Blizzard.

Needless to say, the last few months of her life were difficult as her health conditions worsened and she began to decline. However, her last days were spent surrounded in loving care. On the day of her passing, her daughter, Paula sang many songs to include a little Elvis, Frank Sinatra, The Rose, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and many more. Her husband Don came in and joined in the singing and let her know that he would be over the rainbow with her before too long and just moments after Paula and Don left the room, she peacefully passed.

Rochelle is survived by her loving (and well-loved) husband, Donald Johnson; her three children, Lorri Weith, Paula Robbins and Jeff Zink; Her heart-adopted daughter, Tami Gerred; Her grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Christine Vashaw, Tyler Weith, Angelica Fussner, Raeanna Frazer, Ryan Jabri and Brandon Zink; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Vashaw, Elijah Vashaw and Andrew Vashaw and Brantlee Fussner.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on July 25th from 2 - 6 pm with a spoken gathering/Tribute/Eulogy to be at 3pm that day. All that loved her are welcome. For more details please reach out to Paula at 303-921-1473
