Roberta Aberle

After a long and resilient battle with primary peritoneal cancer, Roberta Aberle, 53, of Aurora, CO passed away on November 1, 2017 with her husband David Oine at her side.

Even as she battled her own cancer, Roberta was a tireless advocate for patient care, hoping to improve the lives of others also fighting life-threatening illnesses.

With her infectious and mischievous smile, her spirit of love, laughter, and adventure, and her passion for the creative approach, Roberta was a true original. People were naturally drawn to her magnetic personality, and she had a gift for making others feel like the most important person in the world.

Roberta pursued her dreams with vigor. After graduating for Colorado State University, she ran her own marketing company serving clients including Conde Nast, Levi Strauss, Discovery Channel, and Home Shopping Network, among others. Later, she transitioned into healthcare, applying her passion and expertise to process improvement for patient care delivery at both Kaiser and UC Health.

In 2011 she published her first novel. One of the saddest things about her passing is we will never read the follow-up novels she was working on at her death.

David and Roberta were married on December 31, 2003 in Antigua. In addition to her beloved husband, Roberta is survived by her loving father, Tony Aberle, her mother, Rosemarie Aberle, and her sister, Carol Carroll, all of Fort Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by sisters Debbie Drohman and Brenda Aberle. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her beloved Chihuahuas, Smudge and Smooch.

Per her final request, two Celebration of Life services will be scheduled. The first will occur in early December in Fort Collins.
