Robert H. Anderson ,70, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on April 27,2015 after a ten year battle with vascular dementia.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 13, 1944 to Harold and Della Anderson and grew up as an only child in New Haven, CT. Bob married Ellen Rassiga on February 17th, 1968 and raised a daughter, Heidi. Bob's favorite moments were taking family vacations to Bermuda, skiing in Vermont and watching Chevy Chase, John Candy and Seinfeld movies. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, kind and generous spirit and misadventures when attempting home repairs. In 1990 Ellen and Bob moved from Massachusetts to Vermont, fulfilling a lifetime dream of living in the Green Mountains.
In his younger years, Bob attended Southern Connecticut State University. After graduating, he joined the Marine Corps serving from 1966-1968 before receiving an honorable discharge due to his mother's illness. Subsequently, he obtained a law degree from the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1974. He worked in Connecticut and Massachusetts in the title insurance business before moving to Vermont in 1990 to become partner in the law firm of Bauer, Anderson and Gravel. In 2004, he and Ellen moved to Denver to retire and to be close to Heidi and their grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen in 2013 and survived by daughter Heidi Achenbach and husband Chris; and grandchildren Ella and Ryan Achenbach. He will be deeply missed.
