A Life As Good As Gold.
Robert L. “Bob Gold” Goldsborough Sr born May 13th, 1930 in West Frankfort, Illinois to H.R. Goldsborough and Beatrice E. Stokes Goldsborough passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Jean; his sister, Margaret and her family; his children, Pam, Debbie and Bobby, and his grandchildren, Geraldo, Daniel, Elisa, Emily, Taekwun and Grace.
With a golden voice to last the ages, Bob had an early start in broadcasting that led to a career in politics and consulting. His personal efforts led to the passage of the first New Mexico Lottery Bill and he had a run for Governor which he cynically referred to as more of a “walk”.
He spent his retirement enjoying the backyard birds with his favorite bird of 65 years, Doris, and enjoying the best tastes of everything Santa Fe had to offer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 1st at 1pm at St. Bedes Episcopal Church
located at 1601 S. St. Francis Dr., Santa Fe, NM 87505
