Robert Ellis

Robert "Rob" Bruce Ellis Jr., age 50, of Denver ,Colorado, sadly passed away on December 19, 2016 from a unexpected illness. Rob was born in Sacramento, California to parents, Sharon (Benedetti-Ellis) Soos, and Bruce Ellis on September 10, 1966. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1984 and, soon after began his career as a Stock Broker for Dean Witter Reynolds. He went on to work for several prestigious financial institutions including Bear Stearns, Prudential Securities, Shearson Lehman Brothers, and for the past several years, with Wells Fargo Advisors.

Rob had a passion for learning and doing new things starting as a young child with his interest in performing magic tricks for audiences, becoming a certified scuba diver while in high school, traveling extensively, running the LA Marathon in 1998, and more recently learning to fly planes. However, if you asked Rob what were his most favorite hobbies which he excitedly shared with his wife Julia, it was his intense love for the Raiders football team and gourmet cooking.

Rob is survived by his wife, Julia (Rutter) Ellis, his mother Sharon (Benedetti-Ellis) Soos, father Bruce Ellis, stepfather, Peter Soos, stepmother, Irene Gutierre-Ellis, brothers Brian Ellis and Mark Perkins, and his nephew Calvin Ellis.

Rob will best be remembered for living large and bringing happiness to the family and friends around him. He was the type of guy that was there for you in a "pinch" and embraced life with great gusto.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the people who have supported them throughout this ordeal. We would like to extend an initiation to "Celebrate the Life of Rob Ellis." A remembrance service will be held on January 28, 2017, 1:30pm to 4:30pm at the View House- Centennial, located 7101 South Clinton Street, Centennial Colorado 80112.
