Robert Davis

Robert E. Davis, 86, of Arvada, CO, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. A Colorado native, he was an avid fisherman, outdoorsmen, craftsman, and baker. As an artist, he was known for his remarkable woodworking and leather crafting skills. He could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, hat on, sitting beside a lake with his wife Violet by his side, waiting for the fish to bite. He spent several years volunteering as a Park Ranger at the Arvada Reservoir. A patriot, he loved his country and served honorably in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Above all, Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was devoted to Violet, his beautiful bride of over 65 years, and his family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was camping and fishing or a cookout at the house he built over 50 years ago. He enjoyed a good laugh and his whistling could be heard across the neighborhood. He was a man of few words, but had a big heart. He will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Davis and sister, Virginia Lee.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Violet Davis, daughter Karen Roxburgh, sons Robert Davis and Larry Davis; brothers William Davis, Donald Davis, and Ronald Davis; grandchildren Michelle Kneupper, Kelly Roxburgh-Martinez, Lorinda Davis, Jeremy Davis, Josh Davis, Nicolle Davis, Clayton Davis, and Spencer Davis; great grandchildren Tucker Davis, Allison Kneupper, Kaylee and Alexis Martinez.

Interment is scheduled for 12:15PM on Monday, May 22, at Fort Logan, followed by a memorial service at 1:30PM at The Light of Christ Anglican Church, 4000 W. Yale Avenue in Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
