Robert Cunningham

Robert (Bob) Roy Cunningham, of Denver, CO, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018, at the age of 95.

Bob was born to parents Maureen and Gordon Cunningham on March 5, 1922, in La Junta, CO. He grew up in the small town of La Junta and graduated from Colorado Springs High School. After high school Bob joined the United States Army and fought in WWII in the artillery division. During his time in the military he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland and others in Central Europe. During his service he earned the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Gold Conduct Medal. After WWII he was honorably discharged from the Army, he met and married his wife, Bessie and they had one son, Ronald. Bob worked as a carpenter, loved to camp and fish, and loved to watch baseball.

Bob is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nancy Cunningham; his grand-daughters Lisa (Richard) Sage, Lori (Michael) Bass; and five great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Maleah, Gunnar, Raegan and Cameron. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie; his son, Ronald, and brother Gordon Cunningham.

Services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, @ 10:15 am (staging area C).
