Robert "Bob" Patrick Anderson, age 66, was born on November 20, 1952 and resided in Thornton, Colorado.

Survived by wife: P. Gail Ehlers

Daughter: Faith Anderson Son-in-Law: Darin Warden Grandchildren: Zoe Grace and Jesse Rex Patrick Warden

Also survived by his blended family: Christopher Ehlers, wife Becca, 3 grandchildren, Dr. Richard Ehlers, wife Stephanie and 2 grandchildren.

He attended Northern Illinois University with a double major in English and History. He was a published poet and he was an amateur historian with a primary focus on American history, specifically the Civil War and the American Indian Wars. He had a special interest in the life of General George Custer and President Theodore Roosevelt.

He retired in 2017 from his work in nonprofits and worked his dream retirement job, as an outfitter and informal in-house historian at the Gun Library at the Cabela's in Thornton, CO.

Service is pending the melting of snow up in the mountains.

Bob loved working to better the lives of others and found. working in non-profit and within his church family to be the best way to fulfill that passion. He worked for local components of The American Heart Association, The Cancer Society, American Dental Association. He was the Executive Director for the National Bowhunter Education Foundation and brought education about bow hunting and conservation all over the world. He was a former member of the Custer Battlefield Historical & Museum Assn. and raised money for preservation of land within the Custer Battlefield. He was a private pilot and took his first solo flight at 16 before he even had his driver's license. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the outdoors and particularly hunting, archery, camping and hiking. Other hobbies including road tripping the western states of the US, cooking and being the best husband and dad he could be. He loved the Lord and had a strong relationship with God.
