Rita Zimmerman

A wonderful life ended when Rita Walburga Zimmerman entered eternal rest at SCL Community Hospital, Westminster, Colorado at the age of 86 on December 14, 2016.

Rita was born August 10, 1930 in Komotau, Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic. She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Wilbur Zimmerman.

Rita was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. Through countless moves across the US and over and back to Europe during the course of her husband's career, she juggled the home front and kept things together with two active and adventurous kids.

Rita was an avid music lover and never missed an opportunity to tune in the radio or put on a record of one of her favorite artists such as Dean Martin, Heino or Caterina Valente. She was especially fond of Oktoberfest music and looked forward to the 2 week long Music Choice, Sounds of the Seasons, channel each year.

Rita was also keenly interested in world events and the news. She could often be found reading one of several magazines in English or German as well as newspapers from around the country and overseas.

Survivors include: her daughter Caroline Alexia Zimmerman of Northglenn, her son Glenn Zimmerman of Derby KS (Sandra); grandchildren: Christopher Zimmerman, Alasyn Zimmerman, Melissa Wills (Brandon), Ryan Voss (Emily); great grandchildren: Brandon Wills, Bryson Wills, and Browen Wills; brother-in-law Ralph (Eleanor), sisters-in-law Lena Tingle (Jim) and Nora Hussar, all of Ohio.
