Ricky Martinez

Ricky J. “Riquito” Martinez, 56, of Cordova, NM, died accidently from a fall sustained at his home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents; Jose Amador Martinez, Gregoria, and stepfather Victor Martinez; sister Florence Serna; grandparents Salomon and Josefita Mondragon; aunts, Fedelina and Eliza Romero; uncles, Jose Domingo and Jose Nick Mondragon, Manuel and Marcello Romero; and many other relatives. He is survived by his nephews; Javier R. Serna, Jr. and Ben Serna and wife Ashley all of Hernandez; aunts, Aggie Trujillo and husband Audelio of Truchas, and Alice Mondragon of Cordova; brother-in-law Javier E. Serna; grandnephews/niece: Aj, Tristan, Joey and Evolet Serna; like sisters, Marie Angie Martinez of Truchas and Susan Mondragon of Cordova and many other compassionate cousins and godchild Amara Romero.

Ricky was a passionate and strong willed man. He shared his thoughts and feeling with all those he spent time with throughout his life. He loved the mountains, whether it be going for wood, hunting, fishing, going for a ride, or working on cars. He offered a helping hand many times to his cousins, close friends and just those in need if he could. He loved to spend time with his friends and the younger generations since he enjoyed doing it all, he encouraged them to do well and not get into trouble. He had great times in his life and some struggles that allowed him to appreciate the good times. He left all the lives he touched with a lasting memory and will be remembered in our hearts.

The family would like to thank all of his family and close friends that did touch his life throughout the years. With thanks for God’s blessing, we are able to put our dear Ricky to rest.
