Richard A. McCleary - Was born in Denver Colorado on October 10th, 1956. He passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2025.
Richard will be remembered as a beloved husband to Kathy, father to Karen and Brian, father-in-law to Jeff and Dasia, grandpa to Coy, Timothy, JT, Nicholas, Zane and Lincoln, brother to Donny, nephew to Rosalie and Floyd, and loyal friend to many. We were all blessed to have him in our lives.
He had a big heart for others and he cherished family and friends. He was someone we could all depend on.
Richard had an endless memory and recall for dates and places and a knack for storytelling with a few tall tales thrown in here and there. His curious inventive nature will be missed. He loved to tinker and figure things out.
He left each of us with memories whether it be traveling together, camping in the mountains, tours and roof top visits at his work to see the city or fireworks, neighborhood barbecues, watching football or just hanging out. He was so happy when he was able to recently gather up the guys he had known for years, and they started meeting for lunches each month.
As a lifelong Denver Broncos fan we are confident he will be rooting for them from his seat in heaven. He sure loved going to the games and was sad when he couldn't any longer.
We all have a few "Richard-isms" that he said a lot. "What it amounts to", "Thing of it is"' "Wait stop". And when playing pool with the grandsons "Better put some chalk on that", whether the pool stick needed it or not.
Throughout his life Richard frequently took opportunities to help others in need. A meal purchase, bicycle repairs for neighbor kids, and project assistance for family and friends were some of the things he loved to do. In his memory in leu of flowers please reach out and help someone in need when the opportunity arises.
Please feel free to share a memory or two that you have of Richard on this page.
