Rebecca Blubaugh

December 27, 1955 — January 19, 2013

Rebecca Susan "Susie" Blubaugh, 57, passed on January 19th in her home in Centennial, Colorado; in the company of her loving family she fought a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her inspiring strength and undeniable spirit moved all who knew her. Strength and spirit have been Susie's trademarks, as well as her unbelievable smile, since her birth to Pauline and Joe Pavliska in Floresville, Texas. She was the fifth of six very close and loving siblings. This is where she developed and became the nurturing and family-oriented woman she was. She seemed to be able to pull the best quality from those around her. She would credit her mother, her sisters – Polly and Liz, her brothers – Joe Bob, James and Jeff, and her father for the values and lessons learned at a young age - just like her to not take the credit.
As she reached the age of 23 she met the love of her life, Richard Blubaugh. She soon became the most positive influence in his life. She filled his life with love and embraced his children, Mason and Ryan, as her own. The song, "All You Need Is Love" was the soundtrack of their lives together, filled with smiles, hugs, laughs and joy. During this time she showed just how adaptable and capable she was as the family moved from Texas to Denver and then on to Wyoming, from Wyoming to Moab Utah finding employment and showing her talent in each location, in Moab Susie really found her place making a lovely home and garden while working in the radio business. Susie then brought another angel into the world as her daughter, Launa, was born. As Susie's love continued to grow to fit her growing family and all the wonderful friends that became a part of it. After Moab , the family moved to Grand Junction where she became an integral part of a Dentist's office and was active in the lives of her children. Centennial was the next stop and this is where she found her stride again. She became a PTO president, an active member of the community and showed her further dedication to the family as Richard's mother June moved in with them. She was busy all the time with kids, Grandma June, PTO, work and just keeping it all together. She made it look easy. She nurtured and helped raise dozens of kids. She became friend and mother to all earning the title, "Queen B".
She epitomized unconditional love mixed with common sense and everything associated with 'Mom', 'wife', 'daughter', 'sister' and 'grandmother.' She was the best of all of us. She was the best at everything, especially matters of the heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. She will always be remembered…but that is not enough. All should try to be a little more like her, think a little more like her, give a little more like her , and love a little more like her. We love you.
