Raul Garza, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories. Born in a small border town in Rnoca, Mexico, Raul made his way to the United States in 1952, later becoming a proud U.S. citizen in 1983. He shared 43 wonderful years with his devoted wife, Dottie Garza, and was a cherished father to his children: Brandon Garza, Roy Jr., Mary Ellen, Terrie, and Gilbert. Raul was also a loving brother to Lee, Melch, and Mickie, and a proud grandfather to Christian and Destine.
Raul’s life was filled with joy, marked by his outgoing nature, his sense of humor, and his loving spirit. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Raul was also passionate about music, playing for over 30 years, and he was a dedicated fan of Notre Dame football. His love for life and his family were at the center of everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi Garza, and his brothers, Paul and Joe. Raul’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
