Phyllis Jarosz passed away on 3-17-16. Phyllis was born on April 9th, 1938 as Phyllis Mae Smith to her parents, Phil and Lerina Smith in North Platte, NE. Her family moved to Ogallala, NE. in her primary years. She grew up in Ogallala with her parents and her sister, Marlene. Phyllis graduated from Ogallala High School. She married Jerry Jarosz and lived and helped on the farm for many of their years together. Farm life, wheat harvest, and all of the activities of her five children kept her busy during those years. Later in the 1980's, she and Jerry moved to the Denver area where she enjoyed the views of the mountains and drives into the Aspens. Phyllis enjoyed her gardens, planting flowers, and spending time telling stories of her children with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed sending cards and gifts to others, especially her children and grandchildren. It was not uncommon to find an Avon gift in the mail or in the suitcase after arriving home from a Denver visit. She loved, loved, loved, looking at pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jerry, they were the loves of her life. Her parents preceded her in death. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children, Doug, Deb, Lori, Lisa, and Kerri, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and her little boston terrier, Essie Mae. She's now won her fight with dementia. As she now leaves our sight, other eyes are watching her coming. There is a glad shout, "Here she comes!" (from Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimers Association or a Tru Hospice Care in Boulder,Co.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday March 22, 2016 with immediate family attending.
