PATRICIA JANE VOLLMER HOTCHKISS Patricia Jane  Vollmer Hotchkiss died October 18, 2017 of injuries from a fall. She was born in Davenport, Iowa July 31, 1929 and moved soon afterward to St. Louis, MO where she graduated from Mary Institute and then attended Vassar College, Class of 1950. She worked at Time Inc. from 1952 to 1959, a senior promotion writer for LIFE. She moved to London, UK from 1959 to 1962, returning to Bedford, in Westchester County, NY, where she was on the Town Board for twelve and one half years and elected to the County Legislation for four years. In 1992, she moved to Tesuque, NM and helped develop a new Master Plan for Santa Fe County. She was on the Board of Friends of Archaelogy and involved with the Council on International Relations. An avid reader and skier, she loved the double black diamonds of Mad River Glenn, VT and Taos, NM. A "yellow dog democrat" from the days of Adlai Stevenson through Hillary Clinton, she was a champion of issues involving the environment and ecology, forever challenging the status quo. She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Gerald Hotchkiss, four granddaughters and a grandson, Abby, Claire, Lilly, Zoe and Jed and two sisters, Mary Rassieur and Paula Jane St. John. A loving mother and wife with a husband who never had a boring moment with her in all their years together.
