Patricia Marie Gragg

The family of Patricia M. Gragg, 79, of Aurora, Colorado sadly announce that she passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023.  

Patricia, also known to friends and family as Pat or Patsy, was born to parents Jonas and Rosetta (Yepsen) Fugett in 1944. She greatly admired her older brother, Bob, and always looked up to him. She grew up in northern Illinois, and was "crazy about" Elvis. After marriage, she and her family lived in California and North Dakota before moving to Colorado in 1985, where she loved the mountains and lived the rest of her life. Upon graduating nursing school, she began a 50-year long career as an LPN, caring for countless people in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Pat enjoyed going on motorcycle rides; boating on the Missouri river; fishing with her brother Bob on Lake Michigan; spending time with family and friends; and talking on the phone. She never met a dog that she didn't like, and had many dogs, cats and birds of her own over the years. Many remember her fiery red hair, her little purple truck, her infectious laugh and her playful demeanor. Pat loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren deeply. 

In her later years, Pat unfortunately developed Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) and eventually lived with her son Troy and his family who cared for her during the last seven years of her life. She often said "I LOVE to dance!" and enjoyed moving to the heavy beat of the music of Rammstein as well as many other artists. Although LBD gravely affected her mind and body, she still had smiles and hugs to share until the very end.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Rosetta Fugett; her brother Robert (Bob) and sister-in-law Delora (Murt) Fugett; and her first husband Patrick Guthrie. Pat is survived by her four children: James (Anita) Gragg, Vanessa (Ross) Wagner, Troy (Jodi) Gragg and Brian Gragg; as well as ten grandchildren: James (Michelle) Gragg, Amber Gragg, Patrick Gragg, Michael Gragg, Jennifer (Travis) Fuhol, Daniel (Sarah) Gragg, Bradley (Jennifer) Gragg, Jordan Wagner, Amanda (Eric) Barston, and Brianna Gragg; and by fourteen great-grandchildren: Joey, Tyler, Madilynn, Andrew, Haley, Noble, Vivian, Oliver, Baylynn, Avigail, August, Odin, Alexandra, Theo, and with #15 expected soon; as well as by three nephews Mark Fugett, Bobby Fugett and Joby Fugett and their families; by close cousins Barbara Asher and Lynn Harrison, and wonderful friend, Lana Engel.   

A memorial service will be held on 

Wednesday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m.
