Neil Phillip Brooks passed away June 23rd, 2022 at the age of 32 near his home in Aurora, CO.
Neil was born in Elmhurst, IL to John and Audrey Brooks and grew up with his brother, and best friend, Doug in Golden, CO. He served eight years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Biloxi, MS, Oklahoma City, OK, San Antonio, TX, and Doha, Qatar. Neil met his wife Cassie in 2009 through a mutual friend. Neil and Cassie were married in 2011, and they welcomed their first child, Reagan, in November 2020. Neil and Cassie’s second child is due December 2022.
Neil was an amazing husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, friend, and airman. Neil never met a stranger and always assumed the best in everyone he met. He was known for his sharp wit, his terrible dad jokes, and for his loving spirit. He enjoyed a good prank, and any chance to make Cassie roll her eyes. His love for his family was undeniable. In his youth, Neil enjoyed camping with friends and family and playing his guitar, saxophone, and piano. His raw talent for music was undisputed. Neil also had a heart for adventure. He was fearless and adventured whenever given the possibility including zip-lining in Costa Rica, skydiving in Texas, wild boar hunting, back-packing through Wisconsin, cage-diving with sharks, and the occasional zombie 5k mud run. Most importantly, Neil had a heart for Jesus and for the church. He spent tireless hours assisting in ministry opportunities including taking his family vacation time to travel on mission trips to assist other communities in need.
Neil is survived by his wife, Cassie, his children, Reagan and Baby Brooks, his parents, John and Audrey Brooks, his brother, Doug Brooks, and his grandmother, Audrey Papenbrok. Neil was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed.
