Nathaniel “Nate” Eugene Libby, 33 years old, of Denver, CO, passed away at his home on July 25th, 2024.
Nate was born in Bangor, Maine to Terrence and Jacqueline (Steward) Libby. He grew up in Lincoln, Maine, a town much smaller than his future dreams would take him. Nate attended the University of Maine at Farmington and graduated in 2015 with his Bachelor of Art in Painting. He spent several years in Lewiston, Maine where he was recognized as a 40 Under 40 Creative Genius. He lived near family for a year in Pennsylvania before moving west in 2020 to find himself in Colorado.
In his years in Colorado, he worked hard to brand himself as a visual artist with Forty-Four Art and Photography including spotlights in Shoutout Colorado and Bold Journey. Nate’s art focus in media culture and modern portraiture was featured in multiple venues and he was prominent in artist markets around the Denver area. Parallel to his art career, Nate was experienced in the Maine and Colorado food scenes. He helped his aunt start her coffee house, and then went on to manage a series of local coffee shops. He could be found working on his artwork, attending music and art events, frequenting the gym, his coffee shops or just enjoying time with friends and family.
Nate is preceded in death by his father Terry Libby, grandmother Nancy (Workman) Libby, grandmother Carol Steward and survived by his mother Jackie Libby, sister Erynn Rancourt (spouse Marcus Rancourt), niece Norah Rancourt.
A service/gathering in his honor will be held August 17th, 2024, at 6:00pm at Quince Coffee House in Denver Colorado. A service in Maine is to be determined. Donations can be made to
