Natalie Yeakel

January 5, 1934 — September 10, 2017

Natalie Yeakel peacefully passed on into the hands of Jesus on September 10, 2017 at Brookdale Greenwood Village skilled nursing home.

She was born to the late Loren "Hap" and Christene Alban, January 5, 1934, in Havensville, KS. She graduated from Leadville High School. Natalie enrolled in the Mile-Hi School of Beauty Culture, Denver and received her Cosmetology License April 1957. She owned and operated Natalie's Beauty Shop for 16 years at 326 Harrison Avenue, Leadville, CO. She sold her shop and worked side-by-side with her late husband John Yeakel to manage and maintain Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park which they had built from ground up. After 27 years of ownership, they retired and moved to Grand Junction.

After 41 years of marriage, John passed away in December 2001. They had no children so in 2003 she relocated to the Denver area to be close to her niece Yvonne (Kent) Higgins. In 2007, she married Tom Jardee only to be widowed again. Old age was creeping in so Natalie moved to an assisted living facility in early 2017 and then spent the last week of her life in a skilled nursing facility.

Natalie's life was filled with her love for dogs and cats which she called "critters." There was nothing better than having an animal to pet. She is greatly missed by Yvonne and Kent and we know she remains a free spirit in Heaven running with her many "critters." She enjoyed snowmobiling with her Leadville friends; and doing volunteer work in Leadville and Grand Junction.

Natalie is survived by her niece Yvonne (Kent) Higgins of Highlands Ranch, CO; nephew Steve Alban, Palo Alto, CA. She is predeceased by her parents; brother Bill (Wanda) Alban; sister Wanieta (Rudy) Bogunovich; and, spouses. She had numerous friends throughout her life and leaves behind many caring friends.

In respect of Natalie's wishes, no services will be held. Her ashes will be scattered. If you would like to make a memorial gift in her name, please consider The Denver Hospice or Dumb Friends League.
