Mona Shea

Mona Desmond Shea passed away at the age of 82 at Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center April 5th, 2020. She fought a long battle with leukemia, but was surrounded by her family.

Mona was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 23rd, 1937 to Amelia Semtner and Chester Desmond.

She moved to Colorado when she was young, and she lived there for the entirety of her life.

Mona graduated from Cathedral high school in Denver. She also attended the University of Colorado at Denver to complete her undergraduate work. She then obtained a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver.

After fulfilling a career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Mona spent many years deeply involved in her local community, participating in many functions and efforts, both socially and politically, with family, friends and neighbors.

Mona cared deeply for her family. She is survived by her six children- Lisa, David, Linda, Brian, Katy and John. Mona also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

In light of recent health advisories, Mona's celebration of life has been postponed until a later date.
